With the uni closing for the day, we had the whole day to play with. Made our way up to Pen Dinas with the bath tub and a few tractor tyre inner tubes. We first launched the 2 man bath tub. The runs were so much faster than the previous day with the old snow like ice with the fresh powdery snow on top. I
along with one of my mates were the guinea pigs for the first run, the run was so much faster than the previous day meaning we had to bail at the bottom or face crashing into a barbed wire fence. We had quite a few runs with the bath tub before calling it a day as it was so tiring lugging it back up the hill.
We then switched to the tractor tyre inner tubes, these took sum beating for enjoyment so we had a number of runs until we were gathering up so much pace that it was becoming dangerous. I carried on though until I didnt bail in time and hit the fence hard, luckily I didn't break anything apart from a few cuts and bruises.
After a few hours we eventually called it a day and then had one final run in the bath tub, "this ones for the road", it was our best run yet, after waiting for a few minutes to clear the runway we launched. The speed was incredible, by the time we reached the bottom it was too scary to bail out. We had to do it though as the fence was approaching fast, me and Jamie bailed jumping in the opposite directions doing sum spectacular roles while the bath carried on ploughing into the fence at pace. We were both a bit dazed after the crash and stood up to everyone on the hill cheering, the bath tub certainly provided amusement for everyone. We took some great photos which I will download in one of the forums. A great session so worthy of 5 stars as snow is so rare here. Got the use of a snowboard on Sunday so gonna go further inland and give it a whirl.
